Dr. Yaniv Shilo, Kaplan Medical Center – Dr. Shilo is a senior urologist currently serving as the director of Endourology at the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot. He held a fellowship for training in endourology and minimally invasive surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – UPMC. For nearly a decade, he has cared for urological patients in general, and more specifically, patients with kidney stones.

Prof. Brian Berkowitz, Weizmann Institute of Science – Prof. Berkowitz is senior professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, focusing on fluid flow and chemical transport in porous media. He has expertise in both numerical modelling and laboratory experimentation, and has developed pioneering theoretical, modelling and analytical/experimental methods in reactive chemical transport and biogeochemistry.

A single use stent, allowing drainage of the kidney when the ureter is (fully or partially) blocked by a stone present in the ureter. The stent design alleviates patient discomfort encountered by most double-J “pigtail” stents (and similar designs), and is inserted easily, while encouraging stone mobilization and migration to the bladder
