Nervio is developing the first autonomous intraoperative neurological monitoring (‘neuromonitoring’) solution. Our goal is to revolutionize neuromonitoring in the expending markets of North America and Europe and to make neuromonitoring accessible to emerging markets.

Spine surgeries involve a high risk for cord injuries, leading to paralysis and other severe neurologic complications. These risks are alleviated by neuromonitoring, the only tool to evaluate neurological functioning during surgery. Neuromonitoring offers real-time alerts during the course of surgery, allowing the surgeon to make informed decisions to avoid neural injuries and neurological disabilities. Today, neuromonitoring requires an additional professional in the operating room – an expert neurophysiologist – who is a limited and expensive resource.

Nervio’s autonomous neuromonitoring system replaces human expertise with artificial intelligence, making neuromonitoring accessible for any operation room worldwide and significantly reducing neuromonitoring costs. Our solution utilizes state-of-the-art technologies, facilitated by the dramatic advances in the field of machine learning. In a successful proof of concept for an autonomous neuromonitoring system, we have achieved the milestone of accurate classification of neurophysiologic events, to a 94.5% accuracy in alerting of motor deterioration
