Obesity drug co OBEcure completes patient recruitment
The trial protocol states that the treatment phase will be completed in three months, and the analysis phase will take a further three months.
Bio-Light Israeli Life Sciences Investments Ltd. (TASE:BOLT) portfolio drug development company OBEcure Ltd. Has completed patient recruitment for the Phase II clinical trial of Histalean, the company's obesity treatment. The trial will include 180 obese fertile women, and will test larger dosages of the drug compared with the previous trial, conducted in 2007.
The double blind trial will be conducted simultaneously in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The 180 patients are randomly divided into three treatment groups. One third of the patients will receive 95 milligrams of Histalean per day, one third will receive 48 milligrams per day (the dosage in the previous trial), and one third of patients will serve as the control group, receiving a placebo.
